I Know its probably been asked before but whats your average/best mpg figures?

I reset the trip computer when cruising at 70mph on the M-way in 5th and was getting around 50 mpg ! Then I once reset it at 5500rpm in 3rd and was getting less than 20 !

Ranges between 32 and 34mpg. I have found i get better with Tesco super unleaded.

Sitting at 33.8 at the moment on Vpower driving around the doors.
Think i managed approx 48mpg when i picked the car up, motorway miles.
Best motorway miles i can manage now, nearly 2yrs later, is 43mpg.

i did the same the other day on the motorway with CC on at 70mph and was getting around 50 mpg. Now after a few days of town driving and a couple of B road blasts its sitting at about 31 mpg.

How do you reset the trip computer to give you an updated readout? Mine sits at between 33.3 and 33.8 no matter wht im doing?!

34.5 on my first recorded full tank of fuel.

On the trip it said 35. This 182 trip is more accurate than the 172.

As for resetting it, there is a little black know on the dash by the rev counter, push that in and it will reset your figures.

Service due in 3k and mine does 32 mpg on average.

The best I've had was a trip from North Wales to Edinburgh when I averaged 40mpg, and that was driving around the speed limits and still overtaking other cars on A roads. I've also recently had 35mpg on a trip from Glasgow to Fort William and then to the lakes, and then wasn't hanging around in any way.

Typically I average 30-32mpg, but I do quite a few shorter trips, and trips on smaller twisty welsh roads.

Wow maybe we all have this to look forward to. Just another 132K till I get 50mpg lol.

I get average 37mpg on long runs and 34 around town.

Thanks for the feedback! 30+ average isn't at all bad! Does it go around the 20's when you floor it?

I haven't reset the trip for 3 tanks now, and I'm running around at 36.8mpg. Maybe I need to put my foot down more often!

Getting about 32 according to the trip but from my last MK2 clio the trip was optamistic by about 10%.

With my 172 Cup, I took it to the 'Ring, enjoyed the german roads, did six laps on the ring and still got 31mpg on the trip.

normally ave around 36 mpg but the best was 42mpg while aiming for over 400 miles out of a tank - i did 420 then ran out fuel

in 9999 over 3 years i did 31.5 mpg on esso optimax
(never reset the trip computer once )
lucky to get 28 out of the R27
