007 is now sold, she is off to the Northeast and is replacing a Williams with the new owner Michael.
I have recommended he joins up on here to keep 007 in the community and so he can be on the receiving end of some of the superb advice i have been afforded whilst on here.
I will be keeping in...
Re: 007 soon for sale
And as i mentioned i will drop the price to a reasonable level as i understand that the belt has not been done, but as it is a much cheaper job than initially thought i didnt think it a major issue.
It's a steal as the car is in superb condition, the cosmetic issues are...
Re: 007 soon for sale
Thanks Ben,
Yeah we live in one of the leafy, but expensive, parts of Cheshire and if we are to stay anywhere local we need to raise some serious wonga, unfortunately selling our two prize possessions, her Mini conv and 007.
Not chuffed but hey...
Re: 007 soon for sale
Sorry forgot to add a couple of things:
Car was serviced only 4k ago and so has not had the 72k or belts done yet, but as it has been found the whole she-bang can be done for around £450 i have factored in part of this cost into the price of the car.
Located junc. 19 M6-...
Hi all,
Can't quite believe i am doing this, but 007 and i will very very sadly have to part company. Reason being that the Mrs and i are saving for a new house, she has sold her Mini and is saving like mad and truth be told me keeping a 2.0 hot hatch isn't going down all that well. I also have...
Places can be found to do the whole job for under £500- Northwest Performance in Northwich, Cheshire for one, i think he charges £470 all in, including a service and parts
not started yet, just wanted to gauge how long it might take before i go dismantling the car. I just wanna replace the units as they are peppered with stone chips and thought the car would look better for it, as it looks like it'll be time to sell soon sadly :(
Found the units for only £46 each...
either or mate, if you wouldnt mind! Can stick it on here or PM me if you want, not fussed.
Doesnt take too long does it? Heard the bumper removal can be a bit of a S.O.B!!
thanks mate
Can anyone with a CS.net login copy and paste this link below for me please so i can have a look? My login wont work and have renewed my subscription.
I want to replace 007s headlamp units and want to check how length a job it is before i start,

i had a similar incident with 007, damn tow bar went through the radiator and needed both new rads, bonnet and front bumper. Nothing structural, just cosmetic like yours.
I had mine done at cheshire autobody in Knutsford, so not too far from you. Bought the parts myself, though
I'm the same, i did it for my job for 6 years from being 14 until 20 and tell you i absolutely loved it, plus doing it in Cheshire/Alderley Edge/Wilmslow/Knutsford etc meant footballers, wags and all sorts of exotic machinery.
Did an Enzo, few SLRs, Koenigseggs, you name it, but never a 2.0...
I have to agree with Hoolio, this sort of topic would descend into the abyss of 'hater' threads that appear on other forums, but very little of that happens on here and i dont think it is doing now.
Good review of the 200, BTW
Get out on a B-road at lunchtime... that is indisputable evidence.
To be honest i would love a CTR driver to drive a Trophy and then, HONESTLY state which they would prefer to drive like a hooligan in.
Then again the 8300rpm redline in the CTR must be quite a lure, they really do scream but...
This has been discussed on numerous forums, but my mate in his CTR is adamant it was 'fair and just' and that the Clio was clearly slower...
Come on, Tiff must have lost at LEAST 0.5 to 0.75 secs by getting the arse out, droping the revs by god knows how much by. I reckon that done again in a T...
Thanks for that mate i'll have a gander.
Also found this bloke that was on 5th Gear a while back, check out this website and especially the pictures of the two-tone british racing green and black Veyron that he did... absolutely incredible.
Just can't quite justify £1500 on a valet right...
Am wanting to spend a day on 007 in the next few weeks, a kind of 'spring clean' that i put all of my car through in Feb/March, especially now the roads seem a bit tidier after all the kacky weather.
I valeted professionally for 6 years, but that was about 5 years ago now so i am a bit out of...

My 'actual' renewal came through a week or so ago from Privilege and it has only just crept up to £700 ish so only works out a few quid a month more, quite relieved in all honesty
Am looking to clean 007s rocker cover a bit as sometimes, especially with this weather it looks a bit grimy. Engine degreasers only degrease, not clean so wondered if anyone had any hints this side of taking a dremel to it...
Cheers
£650 for me last year with Privilege, gone up to a little over £720 this year with same company.
Stuck with 'em though because other quotes were coming out at over £900. 24, 6rs NCB, 5pts SP60 (due to come off in March thank god), parked on driveway WA16
Luckily i have driven my route to work that many times over the years i know where every nook and cranny is on the road so i have now got my own route on the road i.e. i know when to get to the left for a pothole on the right to avoid looking like i'm driving steamed...!
Cheshire is bad at the...
I too get this same feeling every now and then. I think what does it for me is seeing all these people commuting daily in their Focus and Golfs, comfy (er) suspension and soundproofed doors etc, especially with the current state the roads are in cheshire and the rest of the country for that...
So i have been watching this thread like a hawk for the last year or so, as 007 has now hit 60k but shows no sign of needing the dampers refurbing. It still drives as well as ever, is solid as a rock when pushing down on the front end and upon inspection every week when i wash him they look fine...
This is evident with the Meggy .R, spring rates have relinquished what around 15% stiffness to keep the mechanical grip at a peak, as during testing the spring rates were so firm that it was understeering like a pig... or so i heard anyway
