CHeers mate, need to get mine sent off soon. They are a bit firm at the moment!

Based on your other posts I guess you are meaning the opposite of "firm" yes? Personally I think the sandblasting/powdercoating service is a great option.

or they go stiff as the seals start to perish. I want to get them done anyway as Im pretty sure they havent been touched yet!

Sorry but this is wrong, hard as a rock is good, if you can't budge the shaft at all just put them back on the car and use it till it does go bouncey.

Oh right, I stand corrected! I was sure that people reccomended having them done if the suspension was overly bumpy? As in, wasnt very compliant over bumpy bits. In that case il just take them off and check them over properly. If no signs of leaks etc they can go again!

If they bounce when you push down on the car's wing/bonnet area, they're ready for a refurb. If it's just a slight rock, they're reet!

Interesting! What is the highest mileage a trophy has done without a refurb? Pretty certain mine havent been done as I have reciept for it and the car is on 82k! I just assumed after that long they would probably need it.

Dave you are a lucky son of a gun! At about 46K my driver side damper was proper up the creek!

Hi Pete

Thanks for the email – I have done a couple of sets and got some more coming in next week I think. The sets I have done already have tested up really nicely.

The prices (per damper) are;

Rebuild with new seals, oil, regas and dyno test - £85
Strut case Blast/powder coat and valve body blast/re-anodise - £65
New Schrader valve (if necessary but they do seem to need it) - £4.50
Unpinning the adjuster and get it functioning - £20
Return carriage - £15

If still need yours doing then please do send them in with your contact details and whether you want any of the additional things doing. Turnaround is about 3-5 days for the rebuild and another 3-5 days if you need them blasting etc.

Hi there, I rang to ask regarding my dampers. I just need to get them off my car to send to you (BG)
could you or anybody reading please advise on getting the dampers off? Best way? I can do jobs my
self as I have all the gear just don't want anything to go wrong as they are not cheap to replace if
anything was to happen to them.

Three bolts, pretty simple one this. Probably best to get down to a friendly garage and get them to loosen the top nuts with an air gun as they will have seized up and you will probably round off the nuts and break many allen keys, go home jack up car onto stands take off wheels undo top nut again and the two nuts holding damper to hub. Job done.

Btw you should find all the info you need by having a browse of this and other threads.
