Hi all,

Can't quite believe i am doing this, but 007 and i will very very sadly have to part company. Reason being that the Mrs and i are saving for a new house, she has sold her Mini and is saving like mad and truth be told me keeping a 2.0 hot hatch isn't going down all that well. I also have a new job meaning lots of mile crunching, and i just can't justify putting thousands of motorway miles onto 007.

I haven't looked at alternative transportation yet but i expect i'll be going for a Golf TDi or TDCi Focus or something for the forseeable future.

Anyway:
- 64k mainly commuting 15 miles per day on A-roads- i rarely get time or opportunity to stretch her legs these days! Still used daily so mileage will creep up but will not use it as much as i can.

-Modifications:
ITG panel filter, Brembo HC discs, Ferodo DS2500 pads, Goodridge stainless hoses (nice firm pedal feel and phenomenal braking power), pads have loads left and discs will be good for another 6 months i reckon. Also Philips X-Treme power high density bulbs- MUCH brighter than OEM ones.

- Pilot Exalto 2s all round, fronts have fair bit of tread left, rears a little lower but if you're an RS Clio owner you'll know the rear tyres and brakes last a long time. Always run on Shell V-Power.

-Interior is immaculate with virtually no signs of wear (apart from the old steering wheel melting on part of the wheel) Recaros are in superb condition, as pictures or an inspection will confirm. All 100% standard, including stereo etc. HPI clear.

- FSH- all with Renault until around 48k then done by my local garage since then who is a registered Porsche specialist and always do a superb job (i trust them more than Renault, anyway)

- Damper refurb has not been done yet, firstly as i have had them checked and the seals seem perfectly ok (as i said earlier the car has had a very easy life on A-roads commuting and not that much usage on weekends). I was just going to wait 'til one of them failed, but the car handles a well now as it did the day i picked it up at 39k so i thought it a needless expenditure to be honest.

- Valeted every week without fail (apart from in the snow!) Couple of minor cosmetic things a new owner might want to sort as all cars have but nothing much (£100-150 will probably sort the lot) though i have kept it in the best condition i possibly could!

- Private plate T700 PHY that will be sold with the car and included in price. Also included will be a spare PE2 tyre with around 3mm of tread left and also a car cover (not for long-term usage but does for a weekend away to protect from bird muck), oh and a boot rubber floor mat.

- MOT 3 months; Tax 3-4 months

Great chance to own the first non-media numbered Trophy, which i have been very lucky to own as i believe this is the best number of the best version of the best model hot hatch ever made.

Price- Open to Sensible offers

Pictures will not be available until saturday and will then be available on request to a valid email address, but if you are reading this i guess you know what a Trophy looks like!

Genuinely saddens me to do this, but i know for definite this will not be my last forray into Renaultsport ownership. It's been an absolute joy to own and still don't want to sell!!

PM for details or email wlshyd @ aol.com

Re: 007 soon for sale

Sorry forgot to add a couple of things:

Car was serviced only 4k ago and so has not had the 72k or belts done yet, but as it has been found the whole she-bang can be done for around £450 i have factored in part of this cost into the price of the car.

Located junc. 19 M6- Knutsford, Cheshire

Good luck with the sale Dan. I hope I dont have to sell the Trophy when the times comes for me to get my own place. It must be quite a nice place your moving too if your having to sell 2 cars. :)

Re: 007 soon for sale

Thanks Ben,

Yeah we live in one of the leafy, but expensive, parts of Cheshire and if we are to stay anywhere local we need to raise some serious wonga, unfortunately selling our two prize possessions, her Mini conv and 007.

Not chuffed but hey...

Re: 007 soon for sale

And as i mentioned i will drop the price to a reasonable level as i understand that the belt has not been done, but as it is a much cheaper job than initially thought i didnt think it a major issue.

It's a steal as the car is in superb condition, the cosmetic issues are tiny like the small wheel ding and stone chips etc

007 is now sold, she is off to the Northeast and is replacing a Williams with the new owner Michael.

I have recommended he joins up on here to keep 007 in the community and so he can be on the receiving end of some of the superb advice i have been afforded whilst on here.

I will be keeping in touch, and i shall be buying another Trophy one day for sure. Damn i'm gonna miss it...

A good purchase I'm sure, good to see it back in a forum user's hands. It certainly seems to have been well loved by it's first two owners who frequented here.
