I got talking to a feller when he spotted my trophy in a car park. Said he used to have one. He told me there was another one on the Isle of Man up near Jurby - anyone on here own it?
The ‘Stop’ and battery lights came on, but the car kept running fine. Just before I got home, the whole
Dash lit up like a Christmas tree and the lights dimmed, indicators stopped working and it cut out as I pulled up...
Anyone had anything like this before?
I’ve got access to a Renault dealer...
Long-time Mini admirer, and never owned one.
For some reason, I particularly like the pick up and the van models.
And a Z-Cars conversion with a GSXR1300 'Busa engine...
I'm probably headed back in In a month or two, if so I'll try to organise something.
There's more to the isle than just unrestricted roads. Not a lot, admittedly, but there's beer and beaches and people with strange names...
Doctor, of the medical variety. Currently intentionally unemployed between training positions...
I'll have to go back to work when the Trophy eats all my savings.
My friend who owned the car drove it to my door, so 0 miles :)
I wasn't necessarily looking for a Trophy at the time (other RenaultSport products were also on the radar), but I knew he had it for sale and couldn't resist after a test drive - Part of which was on the A18 mountain road in the IOM...
There seem to be quite a few of these low mileage near mint cars going up for high prices. At the time of my purchase (oct '16), I was reading things like 'set to double in value over the next 10 years', but it didn't factor too much into my decision to buy. I wanted a performance car to enjoy...
Good to know - I'm not particularly interested in a big power hike, more improved power delivery. Not being technically minded, I'm basing my ideas on the assumption that with a handmade exhaust system, a remap of some kind would probably be of benefit.
I'll have a look around for other remap...
From what I understand, they put it on a rolling road before and after, and the remap is individual to every car.
Possibly benefit from some kind of decarbonisation beforehand?
I don't really like the idea of messing around with a nearly standard car, but I do like the idea of the K-Tec Clio 2rs Performance pack 1. Basically just a panel filter and a remap.
Given that I've got a handmade aftermarket exhaust system, perhaps a remap might be a good idea.
Can always put...
Generally not a fan of white wheels (or cars, or pretty much anything...), but they look pretty good to me - especially with the red logos and callipers.
Black would tie in with the colour scheme nicely though.
