Took the Trophy out for her first blast on Saturday and even though the roads were a bit greasy had great fun around the Derbyshire hills.
One thing that stood out apart from the handling was that the engine seemed to be a lot stronger than the one in my old 182 cup - It seemed to pull a lot harder lower down - now I know that they didn't change anything - but I was wondering if maybe they picked out stronger engines for the Trophy's ?

Only a rumour mind, don't think it's ever been confirmed or denied.

the sport engines vary in power out put. Your 182 may have been a turkey and the trophy better. Ive driven a few stock cups and some feel faster than others.
The cold conditions may have helped too.

Yeah I realize no two engines will be the same and that cold air will make a difference but I've driven the cup in colder conditions with nowhere near the same result - like you said could've been a duff engine - even more glad I swapped now!!
