Hi guys i have found 387 at a local garage, she has 70k on the the clock and is advertised at £4850, i have asked about the dampers and the garage owner has said he has no paperwork on them! disks and pads look very tired. There is a small rust spot on the bonnet but other than that she looks tidy, does anyone know any more about this car than the register throws up? im going from an escort van so im going to be very out of my depth, have considered a nice ff 182 its just the convieniance of having the car advertised a mile from my house! im thinking of offering £4200 on the off chance it needs work doing. Also has another trophy there which is having work done on the dampers registration ending pnk, sorry didnt grab the model number, was told 387 was the better of the two so didnt enquire too much, any feedback would be great.

Ask if there's any record of the Cambelt having been done. That's a £500 job if it hasn't

No extra info on the car but some tips: Do a basic check of the dampers by bouncing the car from the top of the headlight. If it bounces on either corner, the shocks are going to need some attention. Circa £500 for that so just got to be carefull otherwise it could end up costing alot more than you think :)

cam belt has been done in 2011 i did bounce test, im 70kg and i got a couple of inches play with one hand on either corner, he also has 119 which is due to have dampers done before sale, might have a read up on that, probably go the route of finding a lightly fettled 187 im positive i wouldnt notice the difference and would save myself a grand and 30k miles. thank you for the heads up though guys.

Couple of inches play will almost certainly mean a refurb is in order. I have just got my dampers back from BG on Thursday and fitted them yesterday and there is zero movement from human pressure (only the movement in the tyre)
