    Speedlines

Had the speedlines sorted out so it was time to get them on the car and take the 182 wheels off. Had them done at "The Wheel Specialist" in edinburgh and i must say the price was cheap and the job is spot on with almost an excact match.

Trophy on form with 600 mile trip......

Had a great weekend in Manchester for a football league play off final and my ex-boss decided late last week to play 7-a-side match and got hit in the eye. He was not up for driving to Manchester from the SW and I was not insured to drive his Mondeo. I decided to take the Trophy on the 600 mile...

    Weight of Sachs dampers?

Can anyone tell me the weight of two sachs dampers regarding postage to BG?? I'm taking mine off on sunday and think it'll be too late to book a parcel force collection for Monday to get them to arrive Tuesday. So if someone can be kind enough, if they remember! the weight of their parcel, i can...

    Your Greatest Mechanical Failures.

I'm sure most of you attempt or have attempted to carry out work on your own car before, mechanical minded or not. I for one have very little experience working on cars but can't resist having a go with a 'how hard can it be attitude'. As of yet I haven't caused any major damage (touch wood)...

    I finally cleaned the Trophy.

Essentially, on Saturday, somebody parked their rather clean looking Trophy in our car park next to mine, the gf noticed & said, 'that red clio's really nice'. After then explaining to her that it was a Trophy, just like mine, & that under all the dirt, they were both exactly the same colour ...

The answer to my handling problem...

Over the last 3/4 weeks I've been having a handling problem with the Trophy. Everything felt fine until I entered a left hand bend and I would turn the wheel but instead of turning in sharply the car would take a very wide path no matter how much I turned the wheel. I checked the tyre pressures...

    Front Suspension Overhaul

Good day chaps! My recent MOT revealed a leaking driver's side damper. So it's my intention to whip the shocks off, send them to BG for refurb, off which i have just emailed. Just a note, I emailed Mark Fish first, who basically said use BG as they have the market covered for this job. While...

    Trophy Vs Canoe

Well, after 3 years of dreaming I finally bought my own Canoe :D. I was a bit sceptical about putting a Canoe on the roof of the little Clio but it holds it very well, surprisingly. It does draw a lot of attention and I have to admit it does look pretty funny. The little Clio has a whole...

    The car after #244

This is what I picked up on sat - drove to manchester to collect it. Been very well looked after, no dents or marks on the body work. The recaros needed a clean up with the brush and alcantara cleaner. IMG_4838 by Gib#244, on Flickr IMG_4839 by Gib#244, on Flickr IMG_4832 by Gib#244, on...

Aftermarket exhausts - 2.5 inch dia cat back pointless?

My Trophy's exhaust back boxes are finally on their last legs and so the selection of an aftermarket cat back system begins... So the initial search led me to the KTR Ultra performance system, which has a 2.5 inch bore from cat back. A bit more research led me to the understanding that the...

Wow - a week on the German Autobahns.

Well even after nearly 6 years of ownership this little pocket rocket still surprises me. I know how quick it is on a B road, but in a straight line i always thought it slightly underpowered to take on the great and good of Germany's finest but boy was I wrong. 100 octane racing fuel on board...

    Hi there

Hi, Newbie just signing on and wanted to introduce myself. I'll be on the lookout for a Trophy or possibly a 182 with both Cup packs and recaros as a daily driver. I have a S1 Elise for the weekend, although I'm expecting that if what I read about the Tropy and 182 is right, I might be using...

Clio 182 Trophy Spring Detail (first time rotary)

Spring is here, time to get rid of the swirls from the harsh winter. I’ve used a DAS-6 a few times and achieved reasonable results but now I’ve decided to upgrade to rotary in the form of a cheap and cheerful Silverline. Due to time restrictions and it being my first time I’m only aiming for...

The ultimate giant killer! Evo magazine

Ok so there is only a paragraph on the Trophy in the new Evo magazine so probably not worth buying if you're not a regular reader, but they list 6 giant killing road cars which the Trophy tops with a closing comment of "It's our ultimate giant-killer" It's a good day to be a Trophy owner!

From yesterday. Saw a couple of other Trophy's as well, Spank-It being one of them, not sure on the other  New suspension setup on the Trophy is fantastic (set to -2.8 degrees negative front / -1.8 degrees rear), maybe not in the wet mind you, but when it dried out; lift, turn in, foot...

    Trackdayers on here?

Just wondering how many of the Trophy drivers on here did regular or occasional trackdays? I assumed there...

    Ride Quality

I've recently had my dampers re-furbished with BG Motorsport and had them fitted earlier this week. I know the ride is firm, but I certainly don't remember it being this harsh; I can feel even the tiniest of bumps in the road and it's bone shaking to say the least. Another thing I've noticed...
