the wife finally got her R27 today in what i now learn is the scarce Nimbus colour,in my opinon it the best colour of the lot...the wheel colour really sets it off and the stickers blend in quite nicely, the interiour colour also matches the body and the black bits of trim & rear tints all seem to blend in well...
first opinion is that the steering seems very light (reminds me of a mk3 MR2 we had)...brakes are much better ,but to be fair i havent driven it more than 10 miles yet..

yeh the steering has a completely different feel to it compared to the trophy, i felt slightly removed, missing a bit of the 'feel' but it may just be that i've done 000's of miles in the trophy and only a hundred max in the R27.

Don't like the heavy slab styling on that rear quarter. Reminds me of a Tiger tank.

So unlike the svelte and curvy bottom of the 182.

Meh, photos just dont do them justice - in the flesh they look different somehow.
I've got to admit that im waiting to see if a trophy 197 varient is coming out, failing that im waiting for second hand 197 prices to drop.
Might be able to do a straight swap with trophy prices remaining strong?

Is it a step up though? or more of a step sideways..........

The ONE thing putting me off is the 197's mpg, my amazing trophy averaged 39.7 mpg over a 150 mile trip the other day. Can a 197 average this?

You'd always regret trading in the Trophy for a 197, Dan. Use the money to cosset and pamper your current mistress. Cheaper and more satisfying I'd say.

Don't resist Dan!, Take a 197 for a test drive! You'll keep the Trophy for longer than 2 more years after doing that.....
