ive contacted the 5 renault dealerships in the EH postal area to get a price for a first service .

Grangemouth =£189+vat
Dunfermline =£165+vat
Livingston = £182+vat
Evans Edinburgh West = £191+vat
Evans Edinburgh East = £184 +vat

i then contacted renault customer services and asked why there was such a varation in prices and that i had lost confidence in taking my car to any of these dealerships due to poor service and the so called techs are all muppets that dont have a clue .... :p

I aslo asked them how it would effect the warranty if i take it to another garage to have the work done , they advised against it and said it would affect my warranty but i said it would be done using oe renault parts ,still she said it would effect my warranty ???

anyway im a tight arse Scot and hate to feel like im being ripped off ,maybe i should just bite the bullet and pay the money ,get it done and forget about it till next years service >>

how do these charges compare to the other dealers in the country ?
i have a recipet from when i had the oil changed after the running in period and it was £65 all in , so what is it they do in the first service to warrant another £100+ ??

firstly the warranty will not be effected if the company use Renault parts.... thats a lie!!! a european ruling was brought in to stop companies invalidating warranties just beause you go else where with your money.

As to the cost, think my first service by company in portsmouth cost around £170...... my local renault steeler wanted £220.

www.ren-tech.co.uk if you're ever 500 miles from home!

£70 for my service, although I did my own oil change because I can't trust anybody else to do it properly and use the best oil etc.

If they use the proper Renault parts, it won't affect your warranty, more treachery from Renault it seems. :roll:

Having Ren-Tech on your service book means more to most Renaultsport owners than a dealer stamp. They look after it like it's their own and know 1000 times more about a 182 than a Renault chimp. I'm putting "Full Ren-Tech Service History' on my advert if I ever sell 298!

RS Tuning in leeds is a bit closer and they used to be a reno service centre... used to is the important bit there.... they are far too good be linked to them now.. Paul murray also does remaps etc - one of the best in the country at it and if they were on mastermind, their specialist subject would be Reno's.

Had 353 serviced at Harratts Renault in Pontefract last month for £170 and they even replaced a wiper blade at no extra cost. :shock:
And they even knew what a Trophy was :shock: :shock:

Dare I say it but I'm well happy with them :D

Had mine done for £180 all in, this was at Edinburgh West. I think an oil change along with most of the other fluids and fitted new wiper blades was done.
