What's the best thing to use to polish up the inlet manifold? Steel wool?

To get mine to a polished finish, I started with a Dremel with sanding attachments to remove the rough cast finish then moved to wet & dry paper from 400 through to 2000 grit, then in to polishing compounds. It took far too long to do.

Oh! I've bought a second hand one from ebay so I'm planning on just getting it powder coated and swapping it out. Is it easy enough to do? I need new gaskets I assume..

@MarcR - I had to re-read your post a couple of times after seeing your pics.
You want to get this a lot cleaner? Are you kidding?

Good idea fitting the oil catch tank Claude. My breather sits directly above the exhaust manifold and seeps quite a bit of oil, i'm worried one day it will catch fire. Does the pipe coming out of the tank just sit near the bottom of the engine bay with a filter on the end?

A picture tells a thousand words. Well, maybe not that many...
