My other half is taking my Trophy on a 1:1 tuition track day to Goodwood in August and need to insure the car - just in case the worst happens! God forbid!

We just have fully comp insurance at the mo, and wondered whether I can just 'up' the insurance with our existing insurance provider - Admiral - or whether there are any specialist track day insurance companies which would give us a better deal, and would they even do it just for one day?

Thanks in advance!

This has been covered before although i can't find anything obvious. I doubt if Admiral will cover a track day but you can get extra cover for just the one day if you google it there's lots of info and will probably cost between £50 and £100.

This site looks useful;

Loughborough but mainly on trackdays!
Could get costly, mainly £100+ massive excess, into 1000's

Thats why i'm with Greenlight, £50 before each track event with double my normal road excess.

Anyone can find 'cheap' insurance, but only Greenlight will not run for the hills when you mention tracking your car.

I pay £390 for the year, i can get insurance much cheaper but not with track cover.

1001 posts :D

as has already been mentioned - greenlight would be the best bet if it's going to be a regular thing but as a one off then competition car insurance isn't bad - but they'll double they'll not be cheap.

I recently used Moris track day insurance, their rates were very good. Of course until that terrible moment when you need to ring them up, you can never be sure how good they'll be.
