Standard Gear Knob Removal from Trophy

Hi, i want to remove my gearknob from my trophy to fit an aftermarket metal one.

How do you get the gearknob of the car without damaging it ive tried to twist it but it seems rock solid, is there a trick to it as i dont want to damage the Standard knob as i want to replace it back in the car when selling

nope - no easy way - its a nightmare - I tried everything I could think of - In the end a hacksaw solved the problem although I shit myself doing it! was worth it in the end though - new gear knob is far better

ive ruined my gearknob anyone no where i can get another as to silver part with gear markings is ok?????????????

Paul - I did the same thing - ripped the leather with mole grips - I know it sounds drastic but believe me a hack saw is your best option - it will cut straight through with ease - you will have to hoover the mess up but its better than having a damaged gear knob.
