The exhaust manifold on my T seems to have a large dent. Where the manifold comes down past the anti-roll bar there is a large dent however this seems to be in the perfect position for it to fit around the anti-roll bar. Not sure whether or not this is supposed to be there. If the engine has moved substantially it could have hit the anti-roll bar and dented it, is this the case?

I can add pictures if there's any confusion

Cheers

This has been mentioned before and i'm pretty sure they are have the same indentation around the anti-roll bar.

Sir_Dave is right the 172 has a 4 into 1 design manifold (short) while the 182 has a 4-2-1 design manifold (much longer)

this is for better gas flow and hence the need to avoid the front roll bar.:)

Okay, cheers for that guys. I noticed it when trying to repair my cat to middle box joint. It's blowing very bad from this joint and also rattling so I need to get it fixed. Would I be best to get a new exhaust system and if so which one ? Also would I notice any performance improvements ?
