.........seems to worse when manouvreing along my road in the mornings but not 100% sure what it is! Suspension still feels tight to an extent (although paranoid shocks need refurb), thought it may be a rear bearing?

Any ideas?

If from front strut tops may need the elongated strut top aperture mod. I drove one back from Birmingham once and thought the suspension was going to fall off it was so bad. There's probably a thread on this here, or even check the car # and may be mentioned.

Also check the bottom joint, these seem to be wearing a little prematurely possibly as a result of the extra ET the wheels have.

Have checked shocks today and they seem ok - no leaks, etc. Can anyone let me know these are ok!?

Ball joints seem ok but cannot be 100% sure. Rear discs have wear so wondering if bearings may be towards the end of their life?

Do the passenger side(second set of pics) have as much of a gap between the remote and the arm that it's attached to as the first set.
You will probably not be able to see any wear on the ball joints without dropping them out.

Just poor angled pics - they are similar as far as I could tell.

Perhaps ball joint is the prob.

Thanks

Problem is still driving me mad but the noise is heard constantly (other than when I am stationary) so hoping this is a wheel bearing? It is a hard sound to describe but darn annoying!

if it's a constant noise then it's probably cv joint, brakes or wheel bearing.
bushes and suspension tend to only make noise when they hit bumps etc that will force them to move.

simple solution is get it checked by a trust worthy garage.

Bearne1,

If its a creaking noise when driving it is probably the ball joint, this happened to mine (especially over bumps). However the garage checked this and said I had very slight play on the drivers side, but would still pass the MOT.
OE balljoint only comes with the lower wishbone, but you can buy the ball joint on its own, not a Renault part though.
I took the route of getting a ball joint as the car had only done 22k at the time. It is a bolt on item !!.

Hi pal
I had this problem a few days ago any creaking is ball joints fucked because the creak travels through the chassis. i know because i changed the lower o/s one today and remember on the trophy they are 12mm type ball joints and they only around £10 mate.
Cheers grant

Still not had this checked but not really been driving. Popped out the other day and it makes a terrible grinding noise on slow turns (I think left and right) as though one of the wheels is not gripping - made me grimace!

Any ideas?

Where is the best place to get these? Is it worth replacing the whole arm rather than the ball joint itself?

Thanks
