Hi all,

Does anyone know of any specialists in or around south Wales that will cater for a full cambelt and aux belt, dephaser and tensioner change?

I have searched around and only found AP Developments but I think they have either gone out of business or changed location. I have also found Renatech in Bristol.

Anyone used Renatech?

Many thanks,

Steff

Many people recommend Dan @ SJ Motors in Street. Might be a bit of a trek but he's a true RenaultSport specialist who you can put 100% faith in.

I know others in South Wales travel up to Fred @ BTM Performance in Birmingham...

Hi Claude thanks for the reply mate!

Ok brilliant. I will probably end up going to BTM as heard lots of praise for their work.

Thanks again!

Just another thumbs up for Dan at SJM or Fred at BTM (where I have had my work done on the Trophy). You can't go wrong with either and it's worth the mileage for a job properly done.

Is there a specialist IN South Wales that can do a cam belt change? Both suggestions above are in England!

The closest i've found is Le Car which can offer the cambelt and dephaser for about £650,

I'm not aware of any specialist in south Wales; I think you may have to look further afield unfortunately.

Both the above are no longer in business either and my views on them have also changed considerably! LOL!

Give Rob Kucia a call. He’s based inbetween Caerleon and Cwmbran (NP18 1GD). He has just done my cambelt (and a couple of other jobs for £900). He races several of his own clios so knows them in and out. I’m pretty sure he’s also an ex Renault mechanic.

Thanks, I'll give him a ring soon;

On a seperate note, I think I used to see you driving most morning along the A4042 going into Cwmbran at the start of this year - I was working on the Rechem roundabout upgrade (well, you can't really call it an upgrade)

I've found a specialist in Mamhilad, French Auto Solutions (FASCAR) who seemed pretty knowledgable on 182s and have worked on a few.

the only downside is the cost of £843 for the timing belt, aux belt, dephaser pulley, water pump and coolant.

Does anyone know anything about this place, and is this a realistic cost to do the work?

They were recommended to me by an AA patrol bloke who came out to my Volvo. He told me he’s an ex Renault mechanic and knew his stuff but I’ve not been there.

I don't know the place but the price is not too far off. Take a look at Mick's prices (Diamond Motors) for an idea on costs from a reputable specialist.
