Test drove a 197 today while my Trophy was in for its 12K service. Dealer allowed me to really 'test' the car, staying away from dual carrageways in favour of a few miles of twisting country roads.
Plus points for me...
Cant argue with the claims of better build quality - it felt like a...
I asked the guys who run the local cliosport 'meet' nearest to me for some advice, they told me to use the main Renault dealer in Durham (Reg Vardy).
Cost was only £178 for the 12,000 mile service and included a 1 litre top-up carton of oil, funnel and wipes. There were no 'unforseen'...
Hi Nik
First and foremost - thanks for providing a great site for us Trophy owners to dicuss all aspects of the car and offer friendly advice. I for one have learned more from other members over the past few months that I could ever have hoped to find out on my own.
Other than additional...

Love the seats - I usually get back pain after sitting in most car seats for over an hour, but have had no problems after 5+ hours straight in the car - other than being knackered from the actual driving.
how tall are you and what build are you ?
short throw gearstick
rear spoiler that lets the boot open fully (sick of having to 'limbo' under it !)
keyless access with no visible locks on door
slightly smaller steering wheel (and a better turning circle would be nice)
happy with performance and hadling and would hate the clio to...

Often overlooked, but very important to the balance and handling of your car. If you haven’t checked your pressures in a couple of weeks, go out an do it today - if you have been driving your Trophy hard, they will usually have changed.

The dealer told me that the engine is run-in on a bench in the factory, which is why is has synthetic oil in it from the very start, so just make sure you warm it up properly and then go and enjoy yourself with it - vary the revs as much as possible to get a nicely performing engine (some b-road...
You should contact Renault to see if the site can be included in any upcoming newsletters that get mailed out to their customers. I think renault sport have one ?
Great work on improving the image Maverick and Hyb !
I have just emailed everyone else who PM'd or left their email here asking for a copy.
There are some great images of the car on display here at cliotrophy - Nik, you should consider doing a 2006 calendar - I feel sure there would be...
Wigstar, I always put optimax in the car but tried the new BP ultimate petrol that my local garage has just started selling - performance was unchanged from the optimax and I got 44 MPG coming home from work tonight ! (35 miles doing a steady 60mph in traffic)
Might be worth a try.

Just an observation that I wanted to share, just in case anyone else had had the same experience since buying a 182...
Had mine for two weeks now and before I owned it I can only remember seing a couple of 182's on the road in months.
Since starting to drive one it seems like everyone has...

Finally the sun came out today, so we took that car out for a spin in Northumberland and came across this river crossing. Seemed a shame to miss a photo opportunity like this, so here you are...
Hey guys...
Let's here your reasons why you chose the Trophy as your car of choice ?
Was it the reviews ?
Was it the test drive ?
Did someone you know own one ?
Did you buy one without test driving it - purely based on reputation ?
What were you looking for out of the car ?
How happy...
Changed the head unit in mine a few days after picking up the car. Slotted in a SONY F5550 (plays MP3's) - they have them on special at Amazon for £97 quid and the sound is fantastic when you choose the'xplod' and surround-sound modes. Highly recommended for the cost.
Doesnt work...
Totally agree about the postion of the indicator - definately an afterthought !
You could always swap the LED for one of those extra-bright one's, so it would catch your attention more ?

QUOTED TEXT---- Got a super speedy response from Jeremy, and he confirmed that the 182 engines are normally installed with Elf Excellium LDX 5W-40, a fully syn oil, and he also told me not...
I think you might have something here, I have 900 miles on mine now and up until the last 3 days its been going like a trocket from 5K upwards.
The last 3 days its completely gone, and its no coincidence that I have been doing 50-60mph at about 2.5K revs in 5th gear for long stretches on the...
