ive had a trophy and megane r26..both great cars but different animals especially when i tweaked the meg to circa 280bhp with 340lb torque. Do you prefer turbo punch or the buzz of the n/a? the trophy was more nimble and tactile too. never had a problem with either car mechanically although the...

careful of the vx220 in the wet, a lack of concentration can lead to expensive repairs.... those clam-shells are not cheap!!
135/335 would be very enjoyable if they fall within your budget!
you have to gradully feed the power in on 1st and 2nd ,(only ham fisted driving in the lower gear will create a degree of wheelspin and that only really happens when the road is wet/damp), however from there on in no issues with the traction. It is also slightly quicker off the line to 60 than...
The R26 has standard 4 pot brembo calipers....
As i said on meganesport you wont regret your purchase.....however why bother with a stage 1 when you can have a stage 2 :D

Jimbo - your problem seems more or less exactly what i experienced with the missus 182 cupped FF. Renualt garages could not diagnoise the problem. Another mechanic said it could be the crankshaft sensor....so i replaced that and still the same problem....eventually another mechanic looked at...
I just bought an R26 and coming from a Clio trophy and cupped 182 and i have the following comments:
- Trophy has a keener turn in and has better steering feel (although Megane is impressive)
- Megane has the edge on speed
- Megane has superior brakes
- Megane is more refined
- Megane i think...
Has to be the P1 although i like the evo 6 (best evo IMO) but i dont like the extra body styling on the TM version. I was looking at P1's as the prices are very tempting, but alot of them have had recent engine rebuilds at a cost of £4K plus (and these were not high milage cars are modified)...
Sorry to here about the car.....perhaps it was just bad luck.......but having read various reports and threads on sites regarding turbo'd clios they can certainly be fragile and not very reliable depending on coversion quality and age (with a MK 1 even more so i would imagine). The gearboxes on...
One of the more amusing threads i've read this morning
On a serious note street rasing isn't cool, if you ever experienced/witnessed serious crashes in the past, you'd learn that there's no place for driving like a complete lunitic on the public roads - especially in built up urban areas...
Re: clio 182 trophy for sale. fsh. mint. £6795
How does the LSD effect the trophy? does it create any real benefits? i looked at getting an LSD but for £1K excluding fitting seemed just too expensive for me.
I agree with G40steve, i thought the maxogen was great :D
before the maxogen I had a K&N panel filter and there was no noticable difference over the OEM unit in terms of noise or performance
has a couple of complete time wasters, but the first genuine viewer bought it. It was approximately a month then i had to sort out a few paperwork issues that took up the best part of another month thnaks to the DVLA!
Cheers Matt
We had his and her clio sports. I had no intention of selling the trophy but things change and I sold mine to pay for wedding as mine was worth a fair bit more, but we can still keep hold of hers. So im modding the one we have left...although i am not allowed to put an aftermarket...
Folks No 452 has now been moved on to another careful owner. I shall miss her she was one great car! been a pleasure meeting some of you guys and you have all been most helpful in answering my many queries.

Re: Can anyone help me with info on this Trpohy?
try the opwners section. that has lots of useful background info, but if you do not know the number that may be a little difficult. Ask the seller for the number and get an HPI check on it. if your still unsure have an RAC inpection...
Winter is well and truely drawing in and Im going to purchase some new bulbs for the Trophy. Having heard positive comments about silvervisions i am going to by a set. Could anyone tell me what type of silvervsion bulbs i need ie fit type as there are various codes and i dont know which one...

some have other tyres for track work
in a nutshell yes
I have written a fair bit on this as i have had the work done on mine and there are numberous links about the subject (CAT mod). Have a read of the links and all should be a little clearer (i would link the treads but im not sure how to do it - sorry!)
i spoke to the lady on the phone nicely :D
in all fairness when i declared the exaust they added 15% power increase to the car. When it came to declaring my maxogen i said that there was no way the exaust would cause that power increase. I said if anything the combined power increase was...
I have the pagid pads, brembo max discs and braded lines fitted by Yozzasport- great package!. I delacred the upgraded brakes to my insures, tesco. There was no addional cost over my standard premium. Also there was no extra cost when i fitted my maxogen unit to. Pretty good deal methinks!
^^
Well that rules vegasphil out being interested in buying mine. I hope to generate some interest in the car soon otherwise i may have to keep it a little longer :)
