Can you get it from Renault direct? Who do you contact to get it in France?

You can order kit from Renault and it will come from France.

Would usually take around 7 to 10 days when ordered from any UK dealership but the fact you have France in melt down and Brexit it it could be longer.

Phone your local dealer and give them the above part number and see what they say.

The RRP from Renault is. - £110+vat

Not available in UK Stock and it needs to come from France

Its also only fitted to the SMI steering rack and not the TRW rack.

How do I get beyond “UK system says no”? Is there a way to get them to order it from France or is it out of stock everywhere?

All 182 & 172`s have SMI power racks.

Engine Dynamics only sell the firewall shield.

I think the rack heat shield in their website picture has been fabricated from this material or similar.

It is available in 4 different sizes, so you could replace every shield on the car, if you felt so inclined.

Know anybody who could fabricate that…..or ….how difficult is it to make something do you reckon?

Have you tried talking with Paul Temperton at RPD?

He's always been very helpful.

Sometimes you have to be very patient with backorder parts coming from France, last Summer was an absolute nightmare for Renault parts due to a number of factors which I won't go into here. My Trophy was out of action for 3 months last year waiting for a fuel line on backorder, it did eventually arrive, just in time for me to fit it and take the car off the road for Winter...

I contacted RPD via email but got the same response that it’s out of stock.

Kev at Kam racing said the same, best possible outcome is to fabricate fabricate one from aluminium or gold coated sheet.

Trying a few other places and breakers yards first!

Otherwise will be borrowing garden shears and ordering some gold coated sheet!

Just spoke with a mate at Renault Uk and the part is NLA, renault don’t stick or supply it at all
