Hi - I could confirm the kit was the broken part on my seat. I went to refit it and found it really tricky. There are instructions but it was not clear to me. When I had the seat rail out the car I got the broken part out and the seat functioned again without the 'memory'. When I put my...
Car is now sold subject to cleared funds. It will be missed greatly. I'll leave it to the new poster to decide if he wants to post on here.
Sorry to those who were keen on seeing it when it had the bonnet re-sprayed.
I've decided to withdraw the car from sale. I'm going to get the bumper repaired before I sell it. It will be on the market again very soon with a slightly adjusted price.
This is a very low mileage and very well cared for enthusiast owned car. I've owned it since October 2012. In my ownership I've had the below maintenance performed;
- Timing & auxiliary belts changed replaced
- New original Renaultsport splitter replaced
- Trophy Sachs dampers refurbished...
I have managed to source the part for about £30 . However it got lost in the mail. I ordered from Adam at Renault Wolverhampton. He is on holiday this week though but they might be able to help.
For those who have had a rebuild I believe it's possible to pump up the dampers if they have lost pressure. I think the pressure is 60psi. You can use a pump for mountain bike suspension.
Obviously if there is no pressure there is a problem that needs addressed but this might be useful for very...
There seem to be quite a Clio Mk2 runners on ebay that are not expensive. The only problem is I don't know if they are the same for the recaro seats in the Trophy. Does anyone know if they are the same as 182s ?
My car seems to have broken its passenger seat slide. Fortunately it's fully forward so my son can get in the back seat. It won't move back.
I hoped the cable had popped off but it's in place. However on the left hand slide the belo piece looks to be floating around in the track
The seat...
Are you guys seeing something I'm not? This sort of cosmetic damage is guaranteed if you park in London. You could spend a fortune repairing them only to happen again. You can either repair prior to sale or adjust the price accordingly. It does not prove mechanical neglect.
If they were done by cornering force there should be a dyno sheet provided. Before mucking around count how many clicks back to zero but it may not be the same number. They would have been adjusted to be balanced but not necessarily the same number.
If you count the clicks you should at least...
Does the Cup not have a softer spring rate? Also the rear setup is different entirely. You will likely improve the suspension from the Cup as damping will be a lot better. However you should compare the cost of damper + repair against a full coilover setup that is properly matched.
Tetbury is a tiny town as well. The main reason I decided to buy a Trophy was one parked regularly during the day just outside my house (30 ft) away about a year ago. It was owned by a lady who was on here. It wasn't the tidiest example but I know it's been cleaned up and is on this forum.

Mine are also doing this but they were fine in Autumn so I'm just waiting until Spring!
The calipers do need screwing in. There is a really clear guide on Clio sport which shows what is required. I had a caliper winding tool anyway for my motorbike. It didn't exactly fit but was easier than winding with a screwdriver.
Regarding the ABS ring - it just popped off when hit with a...
I did mine myself. I fitted Brembo HC disks (also with bearing) but that was really overkill and not required as they do little braking effort.
The job was easy enough. Hardest part was winding in the caliper enough to fit the pads in.
I have just put on Brembo HC disks all round with Federo DS2500s. After doing the fronts I was initialy I was unimpressed with the cold braking bite but having replaced the rears and bedded them in a bit better I'm happy with the braking effort from cold.
The feel is a bit wooden for road...

If the image above works the top arrow shows the anti rattle shim from the front caliper.
Do they have the shims installed again? I believe it's common practice to remove the shims when installing DS2500 pads so if they were fitted it's likely the shims were removed.
Whether or not this is causing the problem I don't know but I tend to think they were there for a reason.
I bought my car with the Sachs in the boot and 182 cup dampers fitted by Renault. I have to say the car drove really well. It was a new car to me and the Sachs are a better ride but I was considering leaving them on for winter.
I now have the Sachs on there after being fully serviced and it...
