So we have a massive update.
Found the owner of the car after another hour of bobbing about dodgy units and things.
The owner is a very nice guy, knows exactly what he has got and what it is.
Has had some work done to it and he has spare parts , bumpers along with other things.
He gave me a...
So this car is still sitting in the same spot.
I done some digging last night trying to find out who the owner or the garage was that had it.
I was met by an old pikey with an Irish accent, 2 lads around the age of 11 asking what I was doing and 2 Romanians rebuilding 2 white MK4 Clios into...
I have had the same issue with the alarm going off at total random times and when I tried to lock it would also beep.
Turned out to be boot lock and wiring had corroded and was causing a short setting the alarm off.
I would be checking the bonnet sensor and loom and then the boot loom and lock.
All dealerships as well as RPD do not sell Type D (LIME GREEN) Anymore.
The New stuff (TYPE E) I believe only has an exp dat of 3 years unlike the original TYPE D
So was all over this car again.
Spotted roughly in the same place and still has original front Sachs on the front.
No lacquer on the whole rear and the roof is a mess.
Inside is very dirty and very very worn out and it’s full of rubbish from shoes, screen wash bottles and bags.
Spotted around 10mins away from where I spotted it today back in 2017.
There is honestly NO lacquer on the rear 1/4 or back end at all.
Look at the 1/4 and drivers door
Poor car.
Seriously cover in bird sh*t , Very bad lacquer peel at the back end and badly faded.
Rear bumper held with gaffer tape.
Bonnet been replaced.
Im rather sure it was a guy called Curtis who had the AST UK Franchise when I had issues with my AST Top mounts back in 2010/11 and the service was absolutely shocking.
Quick Search Shows this -
https://cliosport.net/threads/good-news-for-ast-fans.809457/
Josh Cook who is a BTCC Driver started out as Cook Motorsport and all they done was coil springs at first I believe, At that point there was another guy doing AST for the UK and he was bad and I mean very bad, He folded and Cook Motorsport took over AST UK and started supplying and refurbing AST...
According to a Renault dealership from a user over on CS.net this is what they said -
"I called up my local Renault dealer and they said type e is the new type d you can mix it no issues, they said any type d on the shelf will be old stock @MarcB whats the date on that bottle?"
"Direct...
Nothing special as such but its been in Renaults for as long as I can remember and its what I know and use.
If you want to swap over to the new coolant TYPE E LDR then you best make sure that you flush the car out very well as blue and green won't look nice.
Also have a look at this from...
Cant get anything for the MK2 now.
I have large boxes and suit cases full of parts.
Problem is you cant really store Aux Belts or T/Belt kits as they are rubber and will perish.
I was on the phone my my mate who is a parts manager and he has over 250+ bottles in stock and has offered me a...
They are only worth what someone is willing to pay.
You could ask £50k for your car and it could sit for years with not one e-mail or phone call but yet again some mad man might come from nowhere and then pay the full asking price.
Personally for a new used set I would not be paying over...
Im putting this in here just so it gets the most attention and people see it.
Renault have now stopped selling Renault Type D Coolant (Lime Green) and its now changed to Type E LDR (Bright Blue)
This means that a full coolant flush would would be needed for the Green and Blue not to mix...
I can see it from both sides.
1, They are going to get rare
2, Parts are hard to come by
3, People won't want to sell them (If they have spare)
If you where buying new from Renault when they where available then you are paying £1800 each shock.
I believe that regardless of where its stored "rubber" can crack and perish and as the seals and O-rings are rubber I would not hesitate in getting a simple service from BG just to have them replaced.
I had a pair of New shocks and as you can see the O-Ring is cracked
Had a few messages about this.
I would just like to point out that "Im NOT" selling or breaking this car.
It was someone over on Facebook by the name of James Weller.
Renault Europe have a hell of a lot more parts and can order random stuff that you can't get in the UK.
This is why the ROFAG on eBay can still get parts that are NLA here in the UK.
Im unsure how Optimiz can get the parts but then again they might have a deal with Renault France to buy all...
Nothing worse than loosing a set of Sachs dampers.
I would have drove to cooksport to collect them if I could not get a hold of anyone.
How many builders of the dampers are out there now ?

Seen this trophy today in Edinburgh
It was travelling along Milton Road East around 1.30pm.
Reg is T25 PHY and had a Clio trophy sticker on bottom left of rear corner.
Yeah they are rubber and just pop on, To make it easier and to repel any moister or water you could spray then lightly with WD40 or a silicon lubricant
@Patrick Bateman Here is what you need. Im not sure they have a lot of stock.
