yeah the car has very friendly limits - breaks grip easily at both ends and nicely adjustable if you really provoke it :-)
By the way, I find if you really get comfortable with a car's behaviour once you breach the limits you have a bit more confidence to push up to the limits during normal...
nah, just having some fun playing with the limits of the car.
Spent plenty of time driving smoothly as well but just cut together these few corners of hooliganism to show how easily the car can be thrown around :-)
Here are a couple of short videos of a recent track evening with the Clio 200.
It was my third track event with the car so starting to get along quite well with it now. Great car for trackdays :-)

Let us not argue about whether the Trophy or the 200 is better.
Let us instead be happy that Renaultsport's fine tradition of building utterly awesome hot hatches continues apace.
My Clio 200 is almost 8000km now.
I've owned a SC'ed MCS Works, a 182 FF and a Trophy but the Clio 200 is my clear favourite. It's the best looking in my opinion (though not in photos to be fair), it has the best chassis, feels the most powerful and has by far the best brakes.
It's also...
This is a new company offering driving tours through Switzerland, France and Germany.
There is something for everyone, with track driving, road tours, a Renault Alpine Rally, first class accomodation, etc.
There are long weekends and also week-long tours available.
Tours include luxury...
I was worried this post might degenerate into this sort of mud-slinging activity.
My intention here was to give a fair and honest comparison between the 200 and the Trophy.
Both are awesome cars and will provide endless hours of driving pleasure. Some prefer the Mk2's, some prefer the Mk3's...
High praise indeed! Much appreciated.
It's always difficult to be objective of course and they are both fantastic cars. Try a 200 on a good road though, and you won't be disappointed.
I loved the Trophy and thoroughly enjoyed my 12 months with it, but one lazy Saturday afternoon I read about the Clio 200's top-5 finish in eCOTY and casually trundled down to the local Renault Garage to see what all the fuss was about.
Three days later I placed my order.
There has been a lot...
Hi Luca,
I just bought one of these, absolutely awesome car.
In Switzerland that spec would cost over 40k swiss francs if you specced it all separately, I got mine for 33k with renaultsport matts, roof rails and ski rack thrown in!
Mine is Number 8 of the 50 that are being built for the...
Sounds similar to what I experienced on my test drive, minus the losing it on a pubic road [-X :D
I think it is faster than the Trophy - might not feel that much faster because it's a bit more planted and less frantic about it, but faster all the same.
I get mine in three weeks so I'll...
Mine arrives in the third week of january so I'll be able to say for sure then. I went for a GW with Cup chassis, recaro, black speedlines, luxe pack, spoiler, steering lights, tinted windows.
I found the accelleration and noise of the 200 far better than the T, but we'll probably have to agree...
I took a 200 out for a 45 minute test drive and it was enough to convince me to sell my Trophy and get one.
Build quality is hugely better than the 182, the driving position and gearchange are in a difficult league, the steering has plenty of feel and has the big benefit of being far quicker...
I test drove a 200 a couple of weeks back - the build quality is miles ahead of my Trophy.
In fact, I liked the car so much I decided to buy one. Now I just need to sell the Trophy...
After a year of ownership I'm selling my Trophy.
The car is in excellent condition - I just spent 8000 Swiss Francs having the gearbox, clutch, drive shafts, starter motor, rear dampers, and many further parts replaced so the car now drives like new.

I had the DS Performance on my 182 and found them to be utterly useless: very little bite, even when warm and plenty of fade on track, hardly a good combination!
I would recommend the stock pads for road use (the original 172 went from 60-0 quicker than the 911 of the day IIRC).
Currently I...
I just got my car back from the dealer after the following work:
-new gearbox
-new clutch
-new flywheel
-new driveshafts
-back to standard sachs dampers (original ones at the front, brand new at the rear)
This little lot was the result of accidentally clocking 2nd rather than fourth from the...
Just got my Trophy back from the garage, feels like new again.
Again the seats: Does the driver's side on the Trophy have height adjustment? Does it use the same seat rails are the OE Clio Sport seats, just with the added Recaro mounts?
yeah, it's a Swiss Trophy, LHD.
Do the RHD cars have different seats?
For the OMP Buckets it makes no different of course. Are you interested? How do you find the Recaros on track?
I have two OMP bucket seats in my Trophy at the moment, but am considering going back to the standard recaros because I currently use my car mainly on the road.
Would anyone be interested in swapping their recaros for my buckets?
They are in very good condition and come with seat subframe...
ok great, I'll try it out tomorrow.
When you say "actual valve" what do you mean? Do I have to take the whole throttle body off to clean it? Do I need to remove the inlet manifold to do this as well?
ok cool so the UK seats should match the Swiss interior, excellent.
Now, does anyone know if you can get these seats re-upholstered easily or am I better off just getting new seats?
Don't suppose anyone wants to swap some cup clad seats for the UK jobbies?
Cue, you're right, no V6 spoiler...
I've had this problem a few times on my Trophy now:
Sometimes when I drive it hard, and especially after hard braking, the throttle seems to stick - the revs will stay high even if I put the clutch in, and will even rise some times if I put the car in neutral. Also, I seem to be down on power...
yeah, the swiss trophies have the cup material on the front seats.
means they match the rest of the interior, but the UK leather / alcantara just looks better.
just not sure if the swiss trophy has the same colour on the door cards etc (want to make sure the UK seats will fit in ok).
