Haha yes….well I guess I should have put a pic or two of my own with the wheels off, but anyhow happy the way it’s gone, & it’s just about right where I thought it would go for.
Just want to say a big thanks to the photographer Nathan Millar who did a fantastic job. He was very meticulous & patient. I would recommend him to anyone wanting their car photographed for sale or otherwise. Search his name online & you’ll get his website.
Aucky is right on this. Just recalled this old thread while valeting the car.
My driver’s seat microswitch appears to have snapped off. It should be fixed to the driver’s seat rail with a rivet but the switch’s bracket can easily snap off, leaving the rivet and part of the bracket on the metal...
Just had 3 weeks of trying to get 2 tyres. Let down by 1 supplier, told mid Sept for Michelins, got P Zeros on order - been waiting 2 weeks for those, hope will arrive today.
Pretty sure the mileage starts at zero on new clocks. I have the factory hardware & even with that i remember when at Renault we used to fit new inst panels under warranty with “0” miles & then add a note in the service book to make the mileage change clear.
I’m not 100% certain but think the...
I’ve been doing the dephaser, water pump, cambelt etc & thought i’d share this as it’s so easy compared to anything else i’ve used over the years.

These were an easy to get label when I worked in a dealership. We simply took one from a stack on the back workshop counter every time a Tech Note procedure was carried out. Most likely there was only one cross on the label for Trophys - for the infamous bonnet catch issue. Job was to replace...
First check battery earth cable is ok, bad earth can cause random faults with warning lamps etc. The cable can have hidden poor connection between the copper strands and the crimped connector. Damp and unused for 6 weeks in the recent damp & now cold weather can speed up corrosion eg on wiring...
Possibly mad rush to sell before lockdown 2? Coming up to winter plus car market very good after lockdown 1....maybe the sales will continue through into 2021 without a winter break.
I regularly replace broken springs, and original quality springs such as the Eibachs last way longer than aftermarket items. Many springs are powder coated but have a bare metal area where the coater hangs them up. It’s this area that (i think) starts off with corrosion and greatly reduces the...
Hi Rchamps81
Orifice valve can get blocked by debris in the system. However it’s not that common, it really needs diagnosing to see if there’s any fault with the gas pressure sender etc.
As it’s clicking however, that means the solenoid is engaging the a/c pulley and so gas pressure is good...
I would say they’ve done a good job in marketing, and fill a gap in the market nicely at the moment. Best clean my engine bay as tempted to try mine on there [emoji6]
Finally the mileages have caught up with mine [emoji23]
It’s still at 153k but mainly motorway miles. Recent complete new Sachs & Front Eibachs from the group buys on here....feels like it did as new. Just MOT’d after a few years SORNed. Unsure what to do with it at the mo.
Hi
The front sensor is meant to do that. The rear sensor should be 0.45V constant. The fluctuation is the mixture being controlled by the O2 sensor & it’s the fluctuation frequency that gives an indication of O2 sensor problems. ie O2 sensor ageing will show a slower fluctuation between 0.8v to...
Just for info the Clio 2’s suffer from earth lead corrosion between the copper wire & the crimped part of the eyelet. Not visible but basically creates resistance which reduces the continuity to earth.
TBH everything seems to be selling like hotcakes over 2nd half of lockdown & know of a few sellers (of other classics) getting over asking price - for one it was like a gazumping type sale.
It possibly could just be people thinking now is a good time to buy, as after B word comes back & if/when...
About 1/4 of all jobs I get need a condenser - either corrosion or stone/impact damage. A few need a new seal somewhere in system. The filter/dryer unit is best replaced occasionally if not part of the condenser as it has a silica gel anti moisture type filing. If system has no gas at all (ie...
Ok here goes the results:
Car: Renault Trophy
Ambient temp 30C
Temp inside vehicle at start 37C
Regardless of recirculate function I get these static results (ie car stationary, engine fully warm at 2000rpm constant, temp probe inside centre right air vent:
Fan Speed 4: 12C
Fan Speed 3: 9C...
Regas shouldn’t make it any worse even if in 100% working condition if done correctly. You can encounter a valve not sealing if disturbed i.e. during any work which can leak, normally a range of valves should be something kept by the technician.
Regassed my T 2 weeks ago will post temps up as...
