I'm thinking of entering the fold again next year. Ever since I sold the Trophy my wife has been whining at me. She never really got on with the R26 and she can't even get the handbrake on or off on the TVR, so thinking a Trophy might have to come back my way!! I'm not getting rid of the Trevor...
Steve, I'm liking that very much. There could well be a couple of them in Brighton in that case!!! It might be a bit less leaky than the Trevor!!!
(Still hasn't broken yet!!! Touch wood. . . .)
You're on the right track (scuse the pun). You can have great fun in the R26, but very rarely at legal speeds. The great thing about the trophy is how much fun you could have without breaking the speed limit (much!) The R26 is a fantastic way of covering ground, and will go from A to B quicker...
Having now owned both a Trophy and an R26, I have come to realise that it's the little things on the Trophy that make it so special. Without a doubt, the R26 is quicker (especially when mapped) in every situation, but that doesn't make it better. I have been mightily impressed with the R26 and...
Anyone interested in the Meggy? It's going to be traded in otherwise so feel free to make me an offer. Very happy to take anyone out for a spin and show you just how blummin quick it is!!!
:D
Thought I could rely on you to have had one at some stage Mat!
I've got a 98' model, so no cooling problems and i've bought it from Fernhurst TVR in Surrey. They seem to have a very good rep and were very useful with advice. It's been pampered and immaculately maintained by the previous (1)...
Oh, and if anyone wants an R26 with less than 3000 miles on the clock reg June 07 then let me know! It's only going to the garage otherwise, so make me an offer over £15k if you want it!
Well, it hasn't been long in my hands and already I've decided that it's time to be a bit braver! I got married a couple a months ago as many of you know, and bought the R26 to replace my beloved Trophy #185. Having realised that I've probably only got a couple of years left to be utterly...
My DS2500's made a hell of a row when they were first fitted (Steve and I had them done at the same time with new Brembo's as well) and Steve's were pretty bad too from what I remember. They get better though, and you can solve most of the problems with copious amounts of copper grease behind...
Very nicely thanks Steve! Just got back from Honeymoon so tanned and happy! Have also got a serious hankering for an E39 M5 at the mo, so the R26 might be moving on sooner than planned!!! :D
Don't bother getting a quote from Greenlight online. Give them a call and they will sort your quote out properly. I'm now paying just under £470 with 4yrs no claims aged 25 (well 26 now, but 25 when I took the policy) on an R26. My Trophy was £570 aged 24 with 3 yrs ncb.
If they really do...
