Mixture of driving but I dont try to drive economically.

I reset the trip computer when cruising at 70mph on the M-way in 5th and was getting around 50 mpg ! Then I once reset it at 5500rpm in 3rd and was getting less than 20 :( !

Sitting at 33.8 at the moment on Vpower driving around the doors.
Think i managed approx 48mpg when i picked the car up, motorway miles.
Best motorway miles i can manage now, nearly 2yrs later, is 43mpg.

i did the same the other day on the motorway with CC on at 70mph and was getting around 50 mpg. Now after a few days of town driving and a couple of B road blasts its sitting at about 31 mpg.

How do you reset the trip computer to give you an updated readout? Mine sits at between 33.3 and 33.8 no matter wht im doing?!

34.5 on my first recorded full tank of fuel.

On the trip it said 35. This 182 trip is more accurate than the 172.

As for resetting it, there is a little black know on the dash by the rev counter, push that in and it will reset your figures.

Service due in 3k and mine does 32 mpg on average.

The best I've had was a trip from North Wales to Edinburgh when I averaged 40mpg, and that was driving around the speed limits and still overtaking other cars on A roads. I've also recently had 35mpg on a trip from Glasgow to Fort William and then to the lakes, and then wasn't hanging around in any way.

Typically I average 30-32mpg, but I do quite a few shorter trips, and trips on smaller twisty welsh roads.

Wow maybe we all have this to look forward to. Just another 132K till I get 50mpg lol.

I get average 37mpg on long runs and 34 around town.

Thanks for the feedback! 30+ average isn't at all bad! Does it go around the 20's when you floor it?

I haven't reset the trip for 3 tanks now, and I'm running around at 36.8mpg. Maybe I need to put my foot down more often!
Standard apart from a Miltek catback

Getting about 32 according to the trip but from my last MK2 clio the trip was optamistic by about 10%.

With my 172 Cup, I took it to the 'Ring, enjoyed the german roads, did six laps on the ring and still got 31mpg on the trip.

normally ave around 36 mpg but the best was 42mpg while aiming for over 400 miles out of a tank - i did 420 then ran out fuel :)

Best so far was up to 36.9 on the motorways, at least until I got bored.... Hovering around 34.5 now. Need to check tyre pressures though as im sure they're well out.

I think you've answered your own question, stop start driving uses lots of fuel compared to a nice flowing run.

Mine has never gone below 30. On the motorway i always easily get 38-40

I think Trophies (all 182s I guess) are incredibly economical for the performance that they deliver.

40 mpg is achievable, mid thirties normal, and absolutely thrashing it everywhere still delivers over 25 mpg. I reset mine for a trackday, and got 17 mpg over a day of only track driving.

By comparison my previous Impreza would empty a tank over 6 laps of the ring at under 6 mpg.

I checked mine today and was suprised to see 38 MPG exactly !

Totally agree with Vamos, its pretty amazing.

Now i'm worried.

I never get above 28mpg unless i do a motorway run...

And i've recently serviced it. Is there something I should be checking?

^^ Reset it then give it a few days then try again, If you have not done already?

I reset it all the time with the hope of that happening...but with no joy.

Always use V-power...

And car is completely standard. I'm wondering if some mods would improve this..and maybe a re-map

Nah...your fine.

I'm in the same boat. Hardly ever do long journeys, get about 28.

Mine largely does short journeys and only a couple per week as I commute by train. Generally I find that it sits around the 30 mark but for a while now I have been getting into fifth gear as often as possible and generally changing gear around 2k, but rarely higher than 3k revs. This has resulted in an increase to an average of 32mpg but by the sound of things that's still not amazing?! Seems like there are quite a number of us with slightly less efficient cars than others? Mine is standard bar itg panel (not really worth mentioning?!) and in the last week, it's gained an Orb exhaust..

I get in the region of 31-34 depending on where I'm driving. Its slowly getting better now that its getting a few more miles on the clock, not driven the T for 3 weeks now though so I hope to get her out this week!

Rich, its not a diesel mate. Is the Orb really that loud  I hope your enjoying it.

Mine averages out at about 32 including lots of motorway miles plus some spirited country drives and a bit in town. More like 28 back in Dorset or 35 if I have the missus with me as she gets travel sick :( I'm sure they are all pretty much the same its just the conditions that vary. I also noticed very little difference from a remap (+0.5 mpg).

my car used to do 35 mpg, since ive put an induction kit on its went way down, sounds meaty but when its hot after a few mins in traffic it fairly loses power with the heat! any one recommend any decent filters? cold air feeds?
