No need to get passive aggressive when wires are evidently getting crossed- how is the bearing on the wrong side of the rubber cushion in the photos I posted? The bearing is fitted in the recess in both photos, the only thing different is the orientation of the bearing...
Not sure where the confusion is coming from here- either we must be talking about different things or all the exploded diagrams, every photo I've ever seen of a strut assembly in 10 years of ownership and that tutorial video hoolio has just posted are wrong...which seems unlikely.
Regardless of...
Thanks, if anyone wants to back that up please go ahead.
For what it's worth the bearings definitely want to fit nicely in that way, they're on the tight side the other way.

In less good news, the second...
I've ordered the SNR kit from autodoc so will see how it goes. I've had good experiences with autodoc so far, delivery is never the quickest but it all comes from Germany so understandable.
Thanks for the input, RPD do indeed list the kit here- https://renaultpartsdirect.co.uk/parts/steering-suspension/543a09780r/
However, they list the spacer nut separately at an absolutely farcical price of £22-...
